For my first school project we had to design a barbecue. We started with an research into Mexican cooking and eating culture. Also research had been done for production that could been done. After the design phase our project group worked on the first prototype.
Design
The shape of the product is based on tortilla chips. It is being suspended by a wire construction. The shape has been made up by 2 baskets falling into each other, the room between these baskets make room for air. while the ashes are still collected. The button on the bottom of the top basket controls the airflow.
The techniques used for the production of the prototype are:
- MIG welding
- Spot welding
- Plasma cutting
- Threading
All these techniques combined produced a great working barbecue and my first real product.
